DFM provides the world class Platform for SIMATS Engineering students to enhance their real time problem solving skills, through learning fundamental theories in Mathematics like Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics, Random Processes, Calculus, Integral Transforms, Discrete Transforms, and Fourier Series. DFM also provides research platform for research scholars in the research area Queuing Theory , Statistics, Number Theory  Graph theory  and inventory management .  The Department also has  resource persons to guide final year students to enrich their skills in complex computations through Matlab and SPSS .
